Anticipation......

Today marks 4 months of being pregnant! I feel better than ever. My appetite is back, and boy does it want salty and greasy foods more than ever. Up until now, I've lost about 10 lbs, mostly from morning sickness for 3 months, but it's not a bad thing. I wasn't the smallest to begin with so we're on the right track. These days are filled with the anticipation of finding out if this tiny human is a girl or a boy. We are pretty convinced it's a boy, but you never know! Only time will tell. July 13th can't come soon enough. :)

Also, the anticipation of moving home is growing stronger every day. We are getting closer and closer and finally are getting some assistance from Dusten's Major to help speed things along. We will definitely be home by August!!!, the only question is when we get to leave here specifically. Dusten has done everything on his part to get us moving, but alas, we must wait on paperwork and some "special" individuals who are taking their sweet time and doing their job when they feel like it. It's been a long, frusterating process, but in all this we are slowly perfecting the art of patience.

All in all, this is the most exciting time in our lives to date. There is nothing like the anticipation of a child. God has been with us all along the way and we couldn't ask for more.

nephews and neices.....

On February 9th, 2009, Ethan Ryan Lentz was born to proud parents Joel and Emily. This is the first time I met him. He was so soft and tiny. I remember thinking he looked exactly like Joel in every way. Now they are expecting number 2 in October!

Then on March 28, 2010, Cora Ann Lentz was born to Jud and Kimberlee. She is girly and precious and looks like me which makes me love her even more. :) I am so blessed to have such great siblings to look to in parenting.

Dusten's sister, Lauren, and her husband, Joel, are expecting twin boys in August! We are very excited to have so many cousins that will be so close in age. I'll be traveling down to Mississippi this fall to visit and help out with the boys they will be quite the full time job. But, oh so fun! It will be an exciting year indeed!

Friends are a blessing. One of the things that's so great about being pregnant is other's excitement about it as well. It just adds to the joy and anticipation of waiting for the day when we actually get to meet this little being. So, here are the first of many outfits this baby will wear given by two dear friends who are equally as excited as we are for the arrival.

On monday, we had our 2nd doctor visit and got to hear the healthy heartbeat! We also found out that on July 13th we will know the sex of the baby! I can't wait to tell you all about it! That will be the anatomy appointment when they point out every body part an reassure us that every little bone and muscle is in place. Until next time...

Optical Shcmoptical...

One morning when I was 20 I woke up with the worst headache of my life. Seven days later, when it had not subsided, I went to the doctor and they diagnosed me with optic neuritis (an enflamation of the optic nerve in my left eye.) I then went to a neurologist (brain doctor) to make sure that this was all that was wrong. After having an MRI and receiving clear results (no cancer!) I was relieved and so grateful. Part of optic neuritis means you go blind for a 3-6 months so gradually, my left eye lost its sight over the course of a few weeks. Thankfully, I was referred to a very wise herbalist who gave me (sounds crazy) ancient chinese herbs and I am a firm believer they work because my eyesight was fully recovered within a week. All this to say, it was quite the ordeal living for a month without vision in one eye, driving, dealing with depth perception, etc.

So today, I am in the middle of my 15th week of pregnancy and the doctor has told me it would be wise to get my eyes checked with this history of visual imparement. I agree, anything for the baby. So I unenthusiastically make a visit to the eye doctor where they dialate and numb my eyes and do a series of tests to make sure the optic nerve has not worsened. If you have ever had your eyes dialated, you know it's not the most fun. Here's a visual for your enjoyment...

My belly at 15 weeks.....

I'm finally beginning to feel human again. The last 2 months have been spent waking up, deciding whether to throw up before breakfast or after, and then deciding whether or not lunch is going to stay down. It is sooo nice to wake up and eat a full breakfast and go about my day with not a care in the world. I am so thankful I don't have to work during pregnancy. It truly is a blessing to be able to stay home and take walks with Sadie and get things done around the house. So, here's to the weekly belly shot.... more to come!

Our first look at baby Sayes!!!

This was the moment when it all became really REAL. I still can remember how I felt when we found out. overjoyed. It's been over three months now and it's still sinking in that in less than 6 months, we will be completely responsible for a tiny human.
